Two of the four inmates who escaped from the Henry County (Ga.) Jail are in police custody Thursday morning, the Sheriff's Office announced.
Authorities did not confirm which inmates they arrested or where the arrests took place.
On Wednesday night, Henry County Lt. Scott Perry said authorities were searching a 2-mile radius around the county jail.
The inmates were in a recreation area of the jail at about 7 p.m. and cut through a fence. Perry said authorities discovered the escape following a head count.
The inmates were wearing green jail uniforms, but may have removed them, authorities said. Two green jail uniforms were apparently found near the fence.
Authorities say the inmates were loose for about a half-hour before they were alerted to the escape.
Authorities say the escape may have been planned. "When you got four that goes out, you got a plan," Perry said.
"We don't know if [the hole in the fence] was a defect or somebody had come during the night last night, and maybe cut partially through the fence," Perry said.
The inmates were facing charges that include aggravated assault, armed robbery, and various drug and weapon charges.
All of the escapees should be considered dangerous, authorities said.
