| Vanderburgh Co. inmate hospitalized after razor attack |

EVANSVILLE, Ind — An inmate at Vanderburgh County Jail is in the hospital after being attacked by a fellow inmate. A confinement officer reportedly saw, Sherrell Brooks, 44, exiting his cell about 10 a.m. Brooks entered the video visitation area of his unit and then approached another inmate and threw a cup of boiling water on him, buring the inmate's neck and upper torso, according to a release from the sheriff's office. Brooks then began exchanging punches with the inmate as an officer entered the room. The two fighting men ignored the officer's requests to get on the ground. Read More. |
