| Iowa inmate faces hearing to surrender teaching license |

A former teacher in the Clinton School District, who now lives at the Newton Correctional Facility in Newton, Iowa, faces a hearing to surrender his professional license. Christopher Nielsen, who previously was listed as teaching special education at Clinton Middle School, was revealed in 2016 as having had a sexual relationship with a female student who was 15 years old. He plead guilty to one count of sexual exploitation by a school employee, and was sentenced to five years incarceration; he also pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual abuse in the third degree, and was sentenced to 10 years for that charge.
