| Jail inmate accused of attempted murder injured in fall |

A Burney man arrested Tuesday on suspicion of attempted murder missed his arraignment for an unexpected reason Thursday in Shasta County Superior Court. The suspect, Randall Jerome Landsem, 50, injured himself in a fall at Shasta County Jail while on his way to court. Court and jail personnel said Landsem fell down the stairs at the jail and was taken to a Redding hospital for treatment. It's unknown how seriously he was injured, but he may be arraigned Friday, pending upon the severity his injuries. Sheriff's officials have said Landsem was arrested Tuesday after allegedly trying to kill a man he knows. Read More. |
