| Winneshiek County jail to house inmates from neighboring Howard County |

The Winneshiek County jail will see its population nearly double for up to two years while neighboring Howard County builds their new jail. The sheriff's department announced the move Thursday in a press release. Winneshiek County normally houses eight to ten inmates, but could see that number double with Howard County's inmates.
