Citing a goal to mend the relationship between the community and local law enforcement, Colorado Department of Corrections Training Academy instructor Mica Simpleman is seeking to lead the Fremont County Sheriff's Office. Simpleman, a Republican candidate, said he decided to run for the office Nov. 20 after 30 years in law enforcement. "I tell people there's two reasons why I'm running. First and foremost, it's my family, my wife, my three children ... I want them to live in a community they're proud of," he said. "The second reason I'm running is my family: the community."
