Stateville prison inmate fight left one hospitalized

CREST HILL – Paramedics provided “advanced life support” to a prisoner at Stateville Correctional Center after a Friday morning fight he had with another inmate, officials said.

Paramedics with the Lockport Township Fire Protection District were called to the prison at 11:52 a.m. Friday and arrived five minutes later, according to records obtained by The Herald-News through a Freedom of Information Act request.

The paramedics responded to a report of traumatic injury. They provided advanced life support, ambulance assistance and transported an inmate to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, according to the fire protection district’s records.
