| Inmate charged in Vaughn correction officer murder now accused with assaulting officers |

An inmate who has been indicted in last year's deadly siege at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center is now facing charges he assaulted four prison officers at a Georgetown prison, authorities said. Jonatan O. Rodriguez, one of 16 inmates charged in the murder of Lt. Steven Floyd, was refusing to return to his maximum security cell at Sussex Correctional Institution shortly before 10 p.m. Friday, according to court document obtained by The News Journal. The document and Delaware Correctional Officers Association President Geoff Klopp said the correction officers were evaluated at a local hospital. One of the correctional officers, whose name was redacted from the court papers, sustained ligament damage to his right hand. Read More. |
