| Corcoran State Prison inmate allegedly stabs two guards with a homemade weapon |

An inmate at Corcoran State Prison is being investigated for attempted murder after allegedly attacking two correctional officers with a home-made prison weapon. At 4 p.m. Monday, John Nieto, 28, began stabbing a correctional officer. Another officer intervened and Nieto began stabbing that officer, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said. Prison staff used pepper spray, batons and physical force to subdue Nieto as he kept striking staff with the weapon, and finally put him in handcuffs and leg restraints. Read More. |
