BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A corrections officer at Corcoran State Prison is recovering after being attacked by an inmate Saturday. The inmate now faces attempted homicide charges from that attack. The California Department of Corrections said the officer met with inmate, Jarvis Bell, 33, about his alleged role in a fight. That's when Bell attacked the officer with a makeshift weapon stabbing the officer in the face. Bell also used the officer's pepper spray against him, corrections officials said. Read More. |
