| Program brings together inmates, dogs they've trained |

BAYBORO, Pamlico County — Inmates at Pamlico Correctional Institution have a new leash on life. That's the name of the dog training program several of them took part in over the last nine weeks. Dogs who have been trained by inmates showed off what they learned to the delight of those in attendance. It was a great day where love between a dog and a trainer was in the air. "For the last nine weeks I've been in a constant battle with Axel, who is a little crazy," said Dennis Murdock, an inmate trainer. "But we've had a lot of fun." Read More. |
