A Bartholomew County Jail inmate who attempted to run from the child support courtroom in the courthouse was captured by a deputy working the security desk.

Jail corrections officer Tim Claburn was working at the security desk at 3 p.m. Monday when he saw Fredrick Dabner, 32, of 615 Marley Lane, Seymour, an inmate who was in the child support courtroom, waving his hands in the air. The courthouse security desk has equipment to monitor each courtroom.

Claburn watched Dabner until about 3:10 p.m., when Dabner leaned out of his chair and attempted to push corrections officer Mo Holman out of the way in order to leave the courtroom, deputies said. Holman was in the courtroom with three other inmates, deputies said.

Claburn left the court security desk heading toward the courtroom when Dabner ran past him, deputies said. Claburn used his electronic stun gun and struck Dabner, advising him to remain on the floor, deputies said.
