| Agents bust SCI-Dallas drug smuggling ring |

JACKSON TWP. — A former State Correctional Institution Dallas inmate was arraigned Tuesday on charges he was involved in a conspiracy to smuggle drugs into the prison. Angel Roberto Serrano, 34, who is now in prison at Camp Hill, is accused of working with Irene Vitagliano, 57, of Stroudsburg, to smuggle Suboxone and synthetic marijuana to sell inside the prison. According to a police affidavit, Department of Corrections agents began investigating the pair in December 2016 after correctional officers discovered suspicious phone calls between Serrano and Vitagliano, a civilian.
