| Parole absconder arrested in Pontiac |

A 41-year-old Detroit man, who Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were looking for in connection with report of a car stolen from the county jail parking lot March 31, was arrested a few hours later as a parole absconder. According to the sheriff’s office, a woman reported she had driven with a male friend in a borrowed car to the the Oakland County Jail to visit her boyfriend. The male friend stayed in the car while she went inside the jail, and when she returned to the parking lot the car was gone. A while later, deputies located the woman and the male friend riding together in the car in Pontiac and were told he had driven it from the jail parking lot to a restaurant to use the bathroom. The car’s owner declined to press charges, however deputies discovered the man had an outstanding warrant from the Michigan Department of Corrections for absconding parole. Read More. |
