Police respond to riot call at youth detention center, escapee captured

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) - Davidson County’s detention center for troubled teens sent a riot call to Metro Police at 11:50 a.m. Monday.

Several teens serving time started fighting with teachers who work at the center. During the fight, one of the boys escaped through a sally port and was on the run for almost 2 hours.

The State Department of Corrections sent armed guards to help secure the facility. A police helicopter circled the area to look for the fugitive, who was captured on Drakes Branch Rd. at Kings Lane.
