An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow on the body of a Santa Fe County (N.M.) inmate who died in the Santa Fe County jail. A detention officer found 62-year-old William Garrett in the jail's dormitory area early this morning after other inmates notified the officer. Garrett was suffering from apparent cardiac arrest, and attempts by emergency medical technicians and detention center staff to revive him failed. Investigators said there were no signs of trauma on the body. Garrett had been booked into jail on May Fifth on a warrant for failing to appear in a domestic violence case. |
