CONCORD, NH - The New Hampshire Department of Corrections recently added 11 correction officers after the most recent NH Police Standards and Training Council's 107th NH Corrections Academy graduation ceremony. The event was held on April 13, 2018 at the Arthur D. Kehas Law Enforcement Training Facility and Campus in Concord, NH. After completing the mandatory nine week academy, officers are deployed to the Department's correctional facilities around the state. Corrections Commissioner Helen Hanks provided the keynote address during the ceremony and reminded everyone that correctional employees are "more than just security," that "we are the agents that motivate people to address long standing substance use issues, domestic violence behavior, advancing their parenting skills, and many more areas at the route of the reason people end up under our custody or supervision."
