Alger County inmate charged with first degree murder |

MUNISING, Mich. (WLUC) - Wednesday was day three of the trial against an Alger County man charged with murdering his cellmate. Deshawn Madden is charged with first degree murder following the death of his cellmate, Rodriguez Montez Burks. Montez Burks was found dead in his cell at the Alger County Correctional Facility on July 20 last year. Madden, a habitual offender, is previously convicted of carjacking, assault with intent to commit murder and robbery in downstate Wayne County.
