TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CAPITOL NEWS SERVICE) - The Florida Department of Corrections is making drastic cuts to its contracts with substance abuse treatment providers. The department says it had to make the cuts to make up for budget shortfalls, but providers say cutting the programs will cost the department in the long run. The Department of Corrections is slashing its contracts with 33 substance abuse treatment providers by 40 percent, some face cuts as high as 90 percent. Read More. |
