| 2 inmates escape state prison, CDCR officials say |

SOLEDAD, Calif. (KCRA) — Two state prison inmates escaped the Salinas Valley State Prison, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation confirmed Sunday. Richard P. Almanza, 23, and Jonathan J. Damiano, 35, were reported missing around 8:55 a.m. from the minimum-support facility after they were seen running through a nearby vineyard. CDCR officials confirmed the two escaped after conducting an emergency count. Almanza is 5’8” tall and weighs 134 pounds with brown eyes and black hair, officials said. Read More. |
