CUMBERLAND - Authorities are currently searching for a Barton man who walked away from a work release assignment. According to the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, a work release inmate from the Allegany County Detention Center, walked away from his work site at approximately 7:10 a.m. today (May 14). The subject identified as James Richard Lease, 32, with an address of Barton, Maryland, was last seen headed towards Cumberland from the Allegany County Fairgrounds.
