| Inmate's death believed to be suicide, Richland Co. coroner says |

COLUMBIA, SC (WSPA) - Richland County Coroner's Office said a Kirkland Correctional Institution inmate's death is believed to have been a suicide. According to the coroner, they are still waiting on test results, but said at this time everything is indicating that Jamarcus Hykeen Dawkins, 18, died from suicide. Coroner Gary Watts said there is no reason to believe anyone else was involved in Dawkins' death. Dawkins was found unresponsive in his cell around 9:30 p.m. on Friday. Read More. |
