| Ulster County Jail inmate charged with drug possession, promoting prison contraband |

KINGSTON – An inmate at the Ulster County Jail was accused of drug possession on Monday. The Ulster County Sheriff’s office said Anthony Abbott, 35, of Poughkeepsie, was awaiting transfer to Downstate Correctional Facility after being sentenced on an unrelated charge of third-degree robbery, a felony, at the time. The sheriff’s office said a search of Abbott’s cell at the jail was conducted at 3 a.m. Monday. Corrections officers found him in possession of buprenorphine, a controlled substance. Read More. |
