Colombo (News 1st) – An inmate of the Galle prison was hospitalised yesterday (June 13th) following an assault. A spokesperson for Prison Commissioner Thushara Upuldeniya stated the assault was committed by three inmates convicted of gang-related crimes. The injured inmate had been admitted to the Karapitiya teaching hospital. Upuldeniya added a special investigation has been launched by the Prison Superintendent and the inmates convicted of the assault would be brought before the prisons panel. Read More. |
