Inmate Tries To Escape From Hospital, Deputy Injured |

A female inmate serving 30 days in the Sonoma County Jail on a drug charge tried to escape this afternoon from Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital where she had been taken for medical care, Sonoma County sheriff's officials said. Yesenia Carranza, 29, suddenly ran through the hospital around 2:30 p.m. with a sheriff's deputy, who was guarding her, in pursuit, sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Spencer Crum said. The deputy suffered serious head injuries from a swinging metal door during the chase. The deputy was admitted to a hospital as a precaution, Crum said. Read More. |
