Delaware County inmates arrested in jailhouse suboxone smuggling bust |

Two Delaware County inmates, one of them awaiting a federal prison sentence for child sexual abuse, have been arrested after suboxone was allegedly smuggled into the jail. Sidney resident Justin D. Crandall, 30, and 33-year-old Chad M. Ostrander of Grand Gorge were charged with felony counts of first-degree promoting prison contraband, fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The Delaware County Sheriff's Office said suboxone — it's a prescription medicine used opioid addiction — was discovered during a periodic jail housing unit search by corrections officers.
