Escaped minimum-security inmates apprehended in Dane County |

Two minimum-security inmates who had escaped from Winnebago Correctional Institute were apprehended Tuesday in Dane County. The Wisconsin Department of Corrections reported that inmates James R. Heather, 27, formerly of Baraboo, and Alexander C. Weinmann, 25, of Appleton, escaped from the Winnebago Correctional Center on Monday. Dane County Sheriff’s deputies spent most of the afternoon Tuesday searching for the inmates after reports of sightings near Mazomanie and a reported burglary. Read More. |
