ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A New Mexico detention center is looking to use iris scanning technology to verify the identities of inmates coming in and out of the jail after it mistakenly released an inmate who was posing as his cellmate. The Albuquerque Journal reports Metropolitan Detention Center Chief Greg Rees proposed bringing the system to the Bernalillo County facility on Wednesday.
