A state Department of Corrections inmate with ties to Anderson, Pickens and Greenville counties died while incarcerated in Spartanburg County. James Richard Gaddy, Jr., 56, died Thursday afternoon while at Livesay Correctional Institution, a minimum-security facility off Broadcast Drive near Spartanburg, said Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger.
