A female inmate died while in the custody of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Saturday morning, the department announced. A 55-year-old woman was found unresponsive in her bed at 8:48 a.m. at the Monroe Correctional Facility, 750 E. Henrietta Road in Brighton. Deputies initiated life-saving procedures until an ambulance crew arrived and began medical treatment, according to Amy Young, spokeswoman for the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
