LINCOLN, Neb. — A 62-year-old sex offender from Omaha died Saturday at the State Penitentiary in Lincoln. According to a Department of Corrections-news release, Benjamin Oates died at 6:42 p.m. Officials said while the cause of his death has not been determined, Oates was being treated for a long-term medical condition.
