On the Fourth of July, a woman visited an inmate at a Hudson Valley prison with the alleged intent of giving the inmate multiple scalpel blades. On July 4, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested 19-year-old Charisma M. Gonzalez of the Bronx for promoting prison contraband, a class D felony. An investigation revealed that Gonzalez possessed two scalpel blades when she entered the Downstate Correctional Facility as a visitor, with the intent to provide them to an inmate, police say.
