| Monroe County inmate, 22, in hospital after attempted suicide |

A 22-year-old inmate at the Monroe County jail attempted suicide Wednesday afternoon, according to a news release from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. On Wednesday around 3:15 p.m., correction officers found the prisoner hanging in his cell, according to the release. The officers removed the ligature from his neck and started performing CPR. The Monroe City Fire Department and Monroe Community Ambulance took the inmate to the Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital, where he was then airlifted to Promedica Toledo. As of Thursday morning, he was at the hospital in critical condition, according to the press release. Read More. |
