Offender Who Walked Away from Alternative Custody Program Apprehended
By California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation
Published: 07/30/2018

Following investigative leads, agents from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Office of Correctional Safety (OCS) located Sarah Domon, 31, in the Del Paso Heights area of Sacramento. She was arrested and taken into custody without incident and transported to Central California Women’s Facility.

Sarah Domon was released from state prison to a transitional treatment facility on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, to participate in the Female Offender Treatment and Employment Program. On July 25, staff from the treatment facility notified CDCR officials that Domon could not be found at the program site. Agents from OCS were immediately dispatched to locate and apprehend Domon.

Domon was received into CDCR custody from Sacramento County on Feb. 13, 2018, to serve a three-year sentence for evading a peace officer while driving recklessly. She was scheduled to be released in March 2019.

ACP is a voluntary program developed for eligible offenders that allows them to serve up to the last 12 months of their sentence in the community in lieu of confinement in state prison. Eligible participants may be housed in a private residence, a transitional care facility or a residential drug or other treatment program.

OCS’s mission is to protect the public and serve CDCR investigative and security interests. OCS is the primary departmental link with allied law enforcement agencies and the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services.

Since 1977, 99 percent of all offenders who have left an adult institution, camp, or community-based program without permission have been apprehended.
