Woman accused of sending drugs to Gaston County Jail inmate

A Gastonia woman has joined her friend among the ranks of the incarcerated after allegedly trying to sneak a drug to him through a photograph.

Tammy Roxann Hicks, 47, of 426 S. Columbia St., faces charges of trying to supply Suboxone strips to Anthony Lewis Jones, who has been a Gaston County Jail inmate since Sept. 26 on cocaine and other drug related charges.

Suboxone can get a person high, but sometimes people use it to help with heroin withdrawal, according to information from the American Addiction Centers.
