Winfield police capture a sex offender who escaped from a low security prison Saturday night. Cowley County Emergency Communications says 36-year-old Robert Terrell was taken into custody Sunday at noon after escaping Winfield Correctional Facility. The Kansas Department of Correction lists two convictions for Terrell, one for having sex with a child younger than 15 and one for failing to register as an offender. KDOC has not said how Terrell escaped but says officers are not posted at every entrance and exit due to how the prison is set up. Read More. |
