Department of Corrections celebrates Assistance Dog Week |

MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Department of Corrections is celebrating service dog training programs at a number of Department facilities following Gov. Scott Walker's proclamation of Aug. 5-11 as Assistance Dog Week. "Assistance Dog Week is a great time to celebrate the work that inmates do to provide more assistance dogs for the community,” said Alan Peters, executive director of Can Do Canines, which works with Jackson Correctional Institution and Stanley Correctional Institution. “The work being done changes lives and saves lives of people with disabilities.” Read More. |
