| Humboldt County Jail inmate charged with possession of a deadly weapon |

On August 11, 2018, a correctional deputy working in the Humboldt County Correctional Facility received information that an inmate was possibly in possession of a weapon in their cell and had made threats to use the weapon on staff. Due to the serious nature of the information, several correctional deputies stayed after their twelve hour shift to help conduct a search of the unit where the weapon was allegedly hidden.
