| Inmate dies at Wood County jail |

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) - The death of an inmate at the Wood County jail is under investigation. An 18-year-old Wood County Jail inmate died on Saturday from an apparent suicide. Wood County Jail Administrator Lt. Theodore Ashbeck says that at 11:37pm on Saturday a staff member discovered the inmate who had tried to hang himself. Staff members of the Wood County Jail performed CPR until emergency medical staff members arrived. The teen was taken to a local hospital later that night where he eventually died on Sunday.
