SHIRLEY, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Corrections is investigating the death of an inmate in a state prison Tuesday night. 5 Investigates has learned 39-year-old Brian Furtado was found unresponsive in his cell at MCI Shirley by correctional officers while doing security rounds. Furtado was transported to Leominster Hospital and pronounced dead just before 10 p.m. Tuesday. Furtado was doing time for armed robbery. Read More. |
