DuPage jail inmate awaiting kidnapping trial to be married today in county courthouse

A man facing trial next month accused of kidnapping and robbing a Wheaton College student at gunpoint is scheduled for a happier courtroom legal proceeding Tuesday — his own wedding.

Jeremy M. Jones, 25, of Elgin, who is being held in the DuPage County Jail in lieu of $3.5 million bail, has received court permission to be wed, according to court records and Jones’ attorney.

Jones is set to tie the knot in front of Judge John Kinsella, who has been overseeing Jones’ ongoing criminal case. Court records did not disclose the name of his intended bride, and the DuPage County clerk’s office said Monday it could not release the information.
