Two men arrested after trying to smuggle drugs into Fishkill Correctional Facility |

On September 12, 2018 the New York State Police in conjunction with the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Ssupervision Office of Special Investigations, arrested two men attempting to introduce controlled narcotics into Fishkill Correctional Facility. Kennard Blount, age 40, of New Windsor, NY, was arrested for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree, a class C felony, Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st degree, a class D felony, and Conspiracy in the 4th degree, a class E felony. John E. Walden, age 66, of Bronx, NY, was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st degree, both class D felonies, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor. On September 8, 2018, Investigators from NYS DOCCS OSI contacted the State Police regarding two subjects attempting to introduce contraband into Fishkill Correctional Facility. Investigation found Walden attempting to introduce 30 dosage units of Suboxone into the facility. Further investigation determined Blount conspired with Walden, and supplied the controlled substance.
