Inmate gets to spend more time behind bars after sneaking drugs into jail |

EPHRATA – A man was sentenced to 17 months in prison for sneaking drugs into the Grant County Jail. John Cattin, 33, pleaded guilty in Grant County Superior Court to introducing contraband in the second degree. As part of a plea agreement, he also pleaded guilty to weapon possession by a prisoner and was sentenced to 30 days with credit for time served. In late July, corrections deputies say they had reasonable suspicion to perform a strip search of Cattin for contraband. Cattin undressed and in mid-instruction to turn around, he reached for a plastic bag behind him, according to court records. Read More. |
