| State prison inmate from New Orleans dies after fighting another inmate |

Authorities say a 46-year-old state prison inmate from New Orleans has died after a fight with another inmate in the Louisiana State Penitentiary. The Department of Public Safety and Corrections says Derrick Williams collapsed after the fight Saturday and died shortly afterward at the prison treatment center. Department spokesman Ken Pastorick says in a news release that the other inmate's name is being withheld, and the cause of Williams' death is under investigation. Read More. |
