Opening statements will get underway Monday morning in the murder trials of four inmates charged with the murder of a correctional officer at Smyrna's James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in February of 2017. Four of the 16 inmates who've been charged with the murder of correctional officer Lt. Steven Floyd are the first to head to trial at the New Castle County Court House in Wilmington. Jarreau Ayers, Deric Forney, Roman Shankaras, and Dwayne Staats will be tried together; Ayers and Staats are representing themselves. Read More. |
