| Inmate dies, Wicomico County Department of Corrections reports |

An inmate held by the Wicomico County Department of Corrections died Friday, officials said. Wayne Dean Davis Jr., age 23, was pronounced dead at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center shortly after 3 p.m. Friday. The cause and manner of his death have not been released and are pending autopsy, officials said Saturday. Officials were not able to release any further information about Davis, but online court records indicate he had three open cases against him, including charges involving assault and burglary.
