| Attorneys suing DOC accused of telling inmates not to take meds |

Human rights attorneys representing state prisoners in Alabama have been accused of advising inmates to refuse medical treatment and medication - an allegation the lawyers adamantly deny. The accusations were made in a recent letter to the Southern Center for Human Rights by attorneys representing the Department of Corrections. The Atlanta-based Southern Center represents six plaintiffs named in a lawsuit against Hamilton prison in northwest Alabama, claiming negligent health care at the prison. |
