Human rights attorneys representing state prisoners in Alabama have been accused of advising inmates to refuse medical treatment and medication - an allegation the lawyers adamantly deny.
The accusations were made in a recent letter to the Southern Center for Human Rights by attorneys representing the Department of Corrections.
The Atlanta-based Southern Center represents six plaintiffs named in a lawsuit against
Hamilton prison in northwest Alabama, claiming negligent health care at the prison.
