| 54-year-old state prison inmate dies |

An inmate at the Maximum Security Unit in Tucker was pronounced dead Thursday morning after he was found unresponsive in his cell, the Arkansas Department of Correction said. Dan Shelton, 54, was found by staff members at the facility just before 2 a.m. Thursday, according to Solomon Graves, a spokesman for the department. Graves said Shelton was taken to the unit infirmary, where he was pronounced dead about 16 minutes later. The Arkansas State Police and the Department of Correction will conduct investigations into Shelton's death, Graves said. Read More. |
