CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Contra Costa County sheriff's officials have identified an inmate found dead at the Martinez Detention Facility as Karthik Kandaswamy of San Ramon. The 26-year-old man was found in a holding room suffering from a medical problem at 11:27 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, according to officials. Paramedics and firefighters were called to the jail but Kandaswamy was pronounced dead at the scene despite staff attempts to save his life. Read More. |
