Over the last five years, a program for Oklahomans who want to monitor inmate movement throughout prisons and jails has more than doubled in new registrants.
From September 2017 to August 2018, the Victim Information and Notification Everyday program received 96,900 new registrations.
The VINE program provides free and anonymous online and mobile app services to notify people about inmate release dates, escapes, court dates and custody status.
Starting with grant funding in September 2006, the program received 3,106 registrants in its first year. In 2013, more than 45,700 people in Oklahoma registered for the service.
